Read John 1:1-5 Has anyone ever asked you to 'turn on the DARK switch'? Have you ever wondered why we have light switches instead? In our passage today, we see the answer. Darkness never has authority over light. When Jesus came to this earth and found that 'darkness' had overtaken His creation He showed up as "the light of the world." Today, the same principle is true for you and I. Light always has authority over darkness.
We discover 'the light' in His Word. His Word is a 'lamp unto our feet and a light on our path." When light shows up, darkness has to flee. As simple as it sounds this is why we use 'light switches'. As soon as light enters a room darkness has no choice but to leave.
What are you using to fight your battles? Are you allowing the intimidation of darkness to cause you to fear, lead you down a wrong path, or cause you to stumble on things you 'didn't see'? It is time you flipped the switch and turn the light of His Word on your situation.
Are you afraid? Here's your 'light switch': Joshua 1:9 "....do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
Are you sick? Here's your 'light switch': 1 Peter 2:24 "...by His wounds you have been healed."
Are you sad? Here's your 'light switch': Philippians 4:4 "Rejoice in the Lord always, again I will say, rejoice."
The Bible has 'light switches' for any dark room you find yourself in - get the Word, get the light!
