Day Nineteen - It’s Not Going Anywhere (21 Days of Gratitude)

“10 Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and election, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall. 11 For in this way there will be richly provided for you an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 1:10,11 ESV

Clothes wear out and nations fall, but His Kingdom endures forever. I was intentional by combining clothing - which are ultra temporary - to counties which to us can seem bigger than life. Nevertheless, both of these are merely vapors of existence in comparison to the Kingdom of God and the place God is preparing for us who believe.

Today’s focus of gratitude is the assurance of an eternal kingdom in the midst of a broken, troubled world that is filled with uncertainties and hopelessness. God is eternal and so is His Kingdom. For those who put their hope in Him are guaranteed an eternal kingdom of peace, wholeness, joy, and a pain-free existence.

This assumption cannot be underestimated as we endure a pandemic that has robbed us of loved ones, jobs, and relationships This enemy - like all His enemies - will one day be brought under the control of God and His Kingdom. Ultimately, death, hell, and the grave are no match for our Savior.

  • Take joy that your God is in control - forever.

  • Rejoice in His Word that is forever and will not return void.

  • Give thanks that His love never fails.

  • Be encouraged that His grace is sufficient for everything.

In our key verse today, we see what our future holds, “an entrance into the eternal kingdom.” I suspect that it will not be an entrance that is hard to find. I imagine in my mind, that we will be greeted by a ‘cloud of witnesses’, singing angels, and the brilliance of a glorious Lord!

Don’t worry. His Kingdom isn’t going anywhere….but we will going to it!
