Read 2 Timothy 1:7 "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of love, power, and a sound mind." Carey Scott said, "...when fear is connected to something, it's often because the enemy wants to keep you from it." As I reflect on my life, I could become discouraged because of all the opportunities that I missed or messed up because of fear. From relationships to scholarships to positions, fear robbed me of what God had intended for me. As a result, fear stole money, kept me from satisfying experiences, and fulfilling purpose. Fear enslaved me.
Today, I remind you that God has not given you a spirit of fear. He is not leading you through intimidation, lording over you through harassment, and He is not 'yelling' at you. The Holy Spirit whom you have been given through your relationship to Christ is characterized by love, power, and a sound mind. As you look at your opportunities today, look for these aspects in order to find where God is leading you.
First and foremost, love never fails. Love never ends. Love always hopes, believes, and endures all things. Secondly, His Spirit gives you power and through Him you can do all things. Lastly, His Spirit renews your mind and as a result, you can believe all things.
Don't let the liar - the spirit of fear - tell you 'can't go in there.' God has given you a destiny and it is rightfully yours to take!
